Spore is a multi-genre "massively single-player online game" under development by Will Wright and Maxis. Players will be able to guide their creature through a cellular phase of the game (similar to Pacman), a creature phase of the game (similar to Diablo), a tribal phase of the game (similar to Populous), a civilization phase of the game (similar to Civilization), and a space phase of the game (similar to Master of Orion). Spore will include several game editors, including a cellular editor, a creature editor, a vehicle editor, etc. The Spore Creature Creator was released on June 17, 2008, and allows players to create Spore creatures like the ones on this site. The release date for the Spore video game is September 7, 2008.
