How can we improve Best Spore Creatures?

Yes, I’m planning to have categories for the other editors!
I’m looking for some feedback on what the new categories should be.
At one extreme, we could have a category for every editor:
- early creature
- tribal outfit
- civilized outfit
- space outfit
- building
- land vehicle
- water vehicle
- air vehicle
- spaceship
At the other extreme, we could have just three categories:
- creature (including any outfits)
- building (any kind)
- vehicle (any kind, including spaceships)
What do you all think?
And other than the new categories - what other improvements would you like to see next? (already on my list are user avatars and making it easier to comment on creatures).

may i make a comment on the new top creature dark wizard of masonator23, this is EXACTLY the same as Esepibes’ Harvester, it was renamed and its link wasnt even changed, the re-uploads spore link still has esepibes name on it, now we have both creatures on the top spore page, competing against each other, the question is, is this fair to original creator esepibe? same goes for forbiddenplanets original drenakee starlord and its copy dr. kluk (by doctor who). is there anyway to prevent renamed uploads of the same creature by another creator?

I’d like to edit posted creatures. For example, my Not A Friend Of Mine, I want to change the sporepedia like to http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=sast-500079369253. This is because I finally got it to upload.

I think having multiple categories to search from is a great idea. Having to sort through page after page of mixed Cell stage to Space would be aggrivating and time consuming. A suggestion to the site, maybe along with the user Avatars we could have a Creature Page or somthing that we can advertise our creations all on one page.

It would be great if you could upload a feature image and a download image, so you would not have to go to the spore website. Sporepedia loads extremeeely slow for me, and I imagine others would appreciate the ability to quickly acquire cool creatures.

First let me say to paroM that is creatures are freakin awesome!
Now!…I think categories is a good idea!The site should have a creature categorie, a cell categorie,etc.
Because searching through all those creations too find one gets more confusing when cells and creatures are mixed up!
I just registered in the site and uploaded some creatures.
This site is very cool and its a very good idea!
Well done!Gratz to the creators and the most famous uploaders!Harvester is my favourite creature in the site!

hey thanks watermagician and nighTerror! im very flattered, and thanks for agreeing that re-uploads are very annoying, the site has been very good at deleting these items (good job on that one!)
unfortunately, there will still be these kinds no matter what, so i guess we just have to dissuade them any way we can and help the site (i leave not so nice comments on their copies) =D
and harvester is one my faves too, its Esepibes work, i saw him first at xspore.com, contest area (i hope its ok to post that here, its the site where i found the link to this site so i guess they are ‘friendlies’ =D)
ps = its a shame he got to you too nighterror, i will try to help and go to his copy now.

i think theres something wrong with the search engine on “search” i typed my own user and clicked “username” and nuthing come up…i treid useing all caps, no caps, caps where i have it…doesnt work for creatures either

Thanks for all the feedback guys, keep it coming! I read it all, even if I don’t reply right away!
An update is coming pretty soon (hopefully in a couple of days), it should address many of the issues mentioned here
I know it’s taking a while… I blame Spore for eating up all my free time. :p

hi i dont know if you have made this possible yet but it would be good if you could delete some of your creatures so if you can stuff up or make room for a pic

I think that one way to improve this site would be to add contests. You wouldn’t even have to give prizes, maybe just recognition on the front page of the site.
